Moldova (/mɒlˈdoʊvə, mɔːl-/ (About this sound listen) or sometimes UK: /ˈmɒldəvə/),[10][11][12] officially the Republic of Moldova (Romanian: Republica Moldova, About this sound listen (help·info)), is a landlocked country in Eastern Europe, bordered by Romania to the west and Ukraine to the north, east, and south (by way of the disputed territory of Transnistria).[13] The capital city is Chișinău.
